Ivvonate is a creative studio specializing in interior design and landscaping. Our name combines "Innovate" – introducing new or creative ideas – with Nate, a nickname that's stuck despite my efforts to go by Nathan.

Roots
 

Growing up in Mid-Wales and Shropshire, UK, I was surrounded by history and tradition. Shrewsbury, my birthplace, is famously the hometown of Charles Darwin. As a kid, I was fascinated by the area's medieval castles, stately homes, and cathedrals. My weekends were spent scouring local car-boot sales (or swap meets) with my dad, hunting for second-hand treasures. We didn't have much, so I learned to find value in everything.

I won't lie, it wasn't always easy. Bullies at school would mock my thrift-store clothes, but looking back, those experiences taught me to be resourceful and creative. I'd spend hours scouring markets for unique finds, and I'd get to work with needle and thread to give my clothes a custom touch.

Music played a huge part in my life, and I was lucky enough to live in incredible cities like Oslo, Helsinki, and Stockholm. I also spent time exploring Paris, Tokyo, Copenhagen, and Spain. Each place left an indelible mark on me, and I soaked up every bit of culture I could. From museums to local eateries, churches to courtyards, I was fascinated by the stories behind each place.

Traveling the world, I witnessed some of the most incredible sights – the Great Wall of China, Mount Fuji, the rolling hills of Germany, and the brutalist architecture of Russia. These experiences shaped me, and I believe they've given me a unique perspective on design.

Interior Design

Ironically, it wasn't until I moved to the US in 2019 that I discovered my passion for interior design. I landed a role at Activision Blizzard, where I worked in various capacities. One project that stood out was reimagining three floors of a building, themed around forests and folklore, inspired by a new IP they were developing. This experience sparked a creative journey that's still unfolding.

Since then, I've had the privilege of collaborating with notable brands like Crate&Barrel and CB2, as well as restaurants, bars, and residential clients. My projects range from new builds and whole-home renovations to design consultations and room makeovers. No project is too big or too small – I believe every space deserves attention and care.

At Ivvonate, I believe great design has the power to transform lives. I combine innovative ideas with a deep understanding of my clients' needs to craft spaces that are both beautiful and functional. My goal is to deliver exceptional results that exceed expectations, whether it's a home or office.
